Los Angeles Farm Animals and Ponies

Invite the barnyard and watch the smiles on the children’s faces as they “Giddyup!” on a pony ride, give a piggy a belly rub or snuggle a soft sheep.

Don’t worry about space restrictions if you want to have farm animals. We can setup everywhere – yes, everywhere! We’ve done a petting zoo in the second story of a bank inside a 6×8 cubicle on carpet (with no evidence left behind)!  Pony rides can take place just about anywhere that is not crowded with guests such as sidewalks, backyards, driveways, etc.

Animal Party Packages

Any party package is also suitable for schools, camps, libraries, festivals, events, holidays, scouts, preschools, etc.

$550 – Have Mr. Humphrey come to your next event

It’s not every day you can meet a camel, let alone a baby. For an hour you will get to interact with him, feed him, take pictures with him, and enjoy him before he gets over 2,000 lbs. Have a special person bottle feed one of his many daily feedings. He is sure to make your event one to remember.

$150 – Ranch Tour

On a budget? But still want a chance to snuggle and bottle feed our camel? Come visit and have the opportunity to tour our Ranch with one of our animal experts for only $150.

Miniature Petting Zoo – $295 $250 Limited Time!


This adorable petting zoo features 7 animals: a goat and bunnies. Perfect for the little one that wants a smaller style of a petting zoo.

Recommended space is around a 10×6 area just can adjust smaller if needed. Setup is ideally on grass, but you can add a tarp and hay/shaving for bedding for $25 if grass or dirt is not available. If zoo is booked for more than 1 hour, tarp add-on is required if setup is on cement. The client must provide at least partial shade for setup.

Petting Zoo – $300 Limited Time!


The barnyard has arrived! This petting zoo includes around 11-12 animals for an hour (you can always book extra time and see rates under “Party Add-ons”!). Our petting zoo always includes a FREE assistant. We set up a large pen (approximately 12×10 feet, but can adjust smaller if needed) and the children are free to come and go making new friends with all of our animals. Setup is ideally on grass, but you can add a tarp and hay/shaving for bedding for $25 if grass or dirt is not available. If zoo is booked for more than 1 hour, tarp add-on is required if setup is on cement. Tarp/hay makes even indoor gigs possible and clean! The client must provide at least partial shade for setup.

Deluxe Miniature Petting Zoo – $475


Our highly requested Deluxe Miniature Petting Zoo has the most variety of animals you’ve ever seen in a petting zoo and comes at a fantastic price, of course!! With around 14-15 animals this package includes: Mini Horse OR donkey, alpaca, 1-2 sheep, 1-2 pigs, 3 goats, and 6 rabbits.  Our Deluxe Miniature Petting Zoo also comes with more fencing (to accommodate more children at a time and more animals) plus we give you a FREE additional hour making this package for 2 hours (you can always book extra time and see rates under “Party Add-ons”!). Our deluxe petting zoo always includes a FREE assistant. Recommended space is around a 20×15 area just can adjust smaller if needed. If setup will be on cement, then client must add a tarp and hay/shavings for bedding for $50 extra if grass or dirt is not available. Tarp/hay makes even indoor gigs possible and clean! Please provide at least partial shade for setup.

Travel Charges

There is no traveling charge if your party is within 10 miles of us in Sylmar! If you’re beyond 10 miles from us, please ask us for a quote for the travel fee.

For a truly one-of-a-kind petting zoo, you can add the following onto a petting zoo!

Add an Assistant: $75 to add an assistant.

Extra Time: We can stay longer after any show. Extra time can be spent doing “open house” (extra turns visiting with the animals), photo ops with the “big stars,” or even dividing into smaller shows for large groups (especially great for preschools and camps). Extra time is the same rate for any package and we can do anything you’d like within the time. It’s $30 for an extra 15 minutes, $60 for an extra half hour, and $100 for each additional hour. If there is more than 1 handler, add an additional $25 per assistant per hour. For packages over 4 hours, we offer flat rate discounts.

Mini Zebu Cow – Can only be added to Deluxe Miniature Petting Zoo – 2 hours for $175.

Reptiles: One “big star” (snake or lizard) for $25 or 3 reptiles including 2 “big stars” (snake and lizard) for $50 (standby option only for “big stars”).

Pocket Pets: Add 3 pocket pets of your choice for $25 (ex: Chinchillas, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, etc.)

Parrots: One “big star” parrot for $25 or 3 parrots of various sizes including a “big star” parrot for $50 (standby option only for “big star” parrot).

Adding on Extra Animals: You can add up to 3 extra small to medium sized animals to any of our party packages! For example – 3 small birds/parrots, or 3 bunnies, or 3 tortoises, or 3 reptiles, or 3 bugs or 3 amphibians for only an additional $25!

Goodie Bags

Reptacular Animals offers goodie bags themed to your party package! Each goodie bag comes with a Reptacular Animals coloring picture, 4 toys (themed to your specific party package), animal pencil, animal temporary tattoo, animal sticker, and 2 lollipops (can be omitted by request). At only $4 per bag, these fun souvenirs gifts are sure to be a hit at your party, too!

Event Planning Guidelines (Tips From The Pros)

How to have successful Reptacular Animals party!

We can do our animal shows indoors or outdoors. Park parties are welcome & we carry park insurance.

Before the Party

Parking (Petting Zoos): A close unloading spot is needed along with a close parking spot. We bring many heavy fences, animal containers and crates.

Parking (Pony Trailer): Our pony trailer needs a close place to park with no backing up or turning around required (please!). Please save a spot 4 car lengths long on a straight away. (The area in front of a typical house with driveways on either side is perfect!)

Park Parties: We perform at many parks all over the Greater Los Angeles area. However, it is our clients responsilbity to notify the park they will be having live animal entertainment. Some parks request a copy of our insurance and/or our business license and permits. We can easily provide copies of those. Some parks require an additional insured certificate with endorsement which costs $25. We’ve only had 2 parks (both in Orange County) require the additional insured certificate plus a “special wording” endorsement that costs $150 (ouch!). If our client chooses not to inform the park and that day the park will not allow Reptacular Animals to perform their hired package, the client is still responsible for the full payment to Reptacular Animals.

Shade (Petting Zoos): Please make sure that the petting zoo has at least partial shade. If there’s no shade, we might not be able to setup and the client would still be responsible for paying the entire balance.

Heat (Pony Rides): Especially in the summer, animals can overheat (and kids do, too). If it’s over 100 degrees at our ranch, that means the trailer is over 110 degrees inside and we cannot transport our animals in a life-threatening situation. However if you are “playing it by ear” with heat you must let Reptacular Animals know 24 in advance or by the Friday before if it’s a weekend party so you can get the entertainer’s number. In that case remember the deposit is non-refundable, but there are a few options the client has:

  1. Wait until it’s cooler in the day for the pony rides.
  2. Reschedule the pony rides for a different day. If you need to postpone, last minute postponing are permitted a minimum of 4 hours before the event with the deposit applied to any reschedule within 90 days.
  3. Switch to a small petting zoo that can fit inside an air conditioned vehicle (goat, chickens, ducks, bunnies, tortoise – special pony ride substitution price of $150 for 1st hour).
  4. Switch to a different Reptacular Animals party package that be indoors based on availability that day.

Rain: We will be at your event rain or shine. Petting zoos just need shelter (a few rain drops are OK). We’ve done zoos in garages, patios, under pop-up tents, etc. Pony rides cannot take place in direct rain. A garage or other covered area is fine. Disclaimer: Wet concrete can be slippery for ponies so we recommend a dry area to walk the pony rides. For last minute cancellations or rescheduling due to rain or any other reason you must inform the office or call the emergency number minimum of 24 hours before the event, with the deposit applied to any reschedule event within 30 days.  If you do not do so and we show up you are liable for full payment.

Stairs: Multiple stairs for setup for petting zoos and pony rides can be an issue. Please let us know if you have any stairs and we can consult on the best option. For lots of stairs, if we deem it possible, then there will be a surcharge as setup be much more time consuming.

Set Up: Our set up time takes about 10 minutes. It goes much faster if the guests can wait to be surprised by the animals until we’re ready to start. So, if you’re scheduled for 2pm, we’d arrive around 1:45 p.m. to set up (pony rides (with no petting zoo option) have quicker setup so they usually arrive just a few minutes early).

Insurance: We carry $2 million dollar liability insurance and can provide a copy if requested. Some organizations require to be added as an additional insured – which is no problem – but our insurance company charges an extra fee.

Animal Safety: Our animals are well-cared for and are used to being around children. However, if one is having an “off day,” (just like people do), we will hold it back. We don’t force our animals to perform.

Deposit: To book a show with us, a deposit by credit card, check, or PayPal is required. The deposit is non-refundable, but will still apply if the reservation needs to be rescheduled, postponed, or switched to a different animal package up to 1 week prior to the date. Any changes within 1 week of the event will only have the deposit credited to a future event if changes were due to rain or heat. All deposit credits must be used within 30 days of the original event date.

Credit Cards: If you would like to pay the balance by credit card there’s a 3% charge and payment must be made at least 24 hours prior to the event or by the Friday before if it’s on the weekend. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We cannot accept credit cards on location; payment in cash or check is due the day of the event. To charge the balance on a credit card after the event, there is a $5 service fee in addition to the 3%.

Cancellation: If a cancellation notice is not given at least 6 hours before the event and the entertainer arrives, the full balance of the show will need to be paid. If the full balance is not paid, it will be charged to the deposit holder’s credit card or will be pursued legally. The client agrees to these terms by making a reservation. The client will also have to pay for any fees associated with collecting full payment.

During the Party

Birthday Child: We start the presentation by having everyone sing a warm, Reptacular Animals “Happy Birthday” to the birthday child(ren). They can also be the first with everything.

Food: We always remind the children to wash their hands after handling the animals. We do carry hand sanitizer, but soap and water is still the best.

Supervision (Petting Zoos): Please make sure to supervise younger children around the animals. They sometimes can be a little rough.

Supervision (Pony Rides): The pony handler is in charge of the pony, not the kids. If a child is not able to safely ride alone, an adult is needed to help the child.

After the Party

Clean Up: We always clean up after our animals. Setup is ideally on grass to make it easier on the animals and cleanup is super easy. If grass is not possible, there will be minimal “evidence” from our petting zoo that a light hosing down can 100% remove. Or you can choose add a tarp with hay/shavings for bedding as then “no evidence” of the animals will be left – we roll it up and dispose of it for you!

Gratuity: Gratuity is not included in the fee. Everyone sincerely appreciates your gratuity for a job well done and 10-20% is customary.

Payment (Private Events): If you haven’t paid prior to the party, cash or check payment is due the day of the event. The full balance should be paid by the day of the event. If for some reason that doesn’t happen, then payment must be made by the following business day. After one business day, there will be a $10 fee per week of us waiting to receive full payment. Any amount not paid in full within 30 days is subject to additional interest, penalties, collection fees, and/or additional court fees. By using our services, the client agrees to these terms.

Payment (Corporate / Agency Events): Sometimes organizations have to wait on a check so payment is not ready on the day of the event. There is a 7 day grace period for payment. After one week, there will be a $10 fee per week of us waiting to receive full payment. Any amount not paid in full within 60 days is subject to additional interest, penalties, collection fees, and/or additional court fees. By using our services, the organization agrees to these terms.

Returned Check Policy: Reptacular Animals is happy to offer the privilege of accepting a check payment the day of the show. Any returned check is subject to a $25.00 collection fee plus a $10.00 insufficient funds fee when returned check happens initially. If Reptacular Animals has a credit card on file, Reptacular Animals is authorized to run the returned check amount plus fee on that credit card. If payment is not resolved immediately, there will be a $10 fee added on per week from the original event date. Any amount not paid in full within 30 days is subject to additional interest, penalties, collection fees, and/or additional court fees. By writing a check the day of the show, the check writer agrees to these terms.

Return/Refund Policy: There are no refunds or discounts eligible after services are rendered. By allowing Reptacular Animals to perform/setup, you are waiving any right to a discount or refund and will be responsible for paying the entire balance.

Goodbye: If you have not booked us to stay for additional time, we do leave promptly since we often have multiple parties to attend. Happily for us, animal parties are very popular.
